Color Dare#160 - Scrap Happy Card

Hi Everyone!

Thank you for visiting my blog, I am so excited to be a Guest Designer for this weeks' Color Dare Color Challenge #160.  The colors for this week are Black, White Daisy, Ruby and Gold Rush.

I created a card for an upcoming crop that I am co-hosting this weekend.  To thank my customers for attending this event, I am going to give each and everyone of them a "Scrap Happy" card.  I used the Hexagonal Patterns Stamp Set to create my background and cut the "Scrap Happy" sentiment on my Cricut Explore using the new Close To My Heart Artistry Cricut Cartridge.

For the inside of the card, I used the larger polka dot stamp, White Daisy Pigment Ink and White Embossing Powder to create the border.

I hope you you like my take on this weeks' Color Dare Challenge.  Thanks again for visiting and Happy Crafting!

Watercolor Splat! Birthday Card

Hi Everyone!

Thank you for visiting my blog!  This weeks' Heart2Heart Challenges theme is Splat! This reminds me of the mess I made when I was experimenting with the new Close To My Heart Watercolor Paints.  It was so much fun trying out different ways to use the watercolor paints that I got paint all over my clothes, desk, lamp and walls.  Cleaning my mess was my least favorite part of this experiment, but I'm really happy with the result.  A fun and colorful birthday card created using the new Watercolor Paints and some Watercolor Pencils as well.

Here's a list of the products used to create this card:

  • Close To My Heart Water Color Paper
  • Close To My Heart Water Color Paint
  • Water Color Pencils
  • Blending Pen
  • Thistle Diagonal Striped Ribbon
  • Black Cardstock
  • Paint Brushes
  • Hello, Life - Cardmaking Stamp Set
  • Vine Embossing Folder
  • Heat Tool
  • Tape Runner
  • 3D Foam Tape or Foam Squares
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Lagoon Exclusive Ink Pad
  • Smoothie Exclusive Ink Pad
  • Thistle Exclusive Ink Pad

"Thank You Cards"

This month's stamp set is the star of my feature Thank You card for the month of September.  My mind was going in circles when I was designing with this stamp set, there was a great selection of beautiful images and I couldn't decide how I was going to use them.

I created these cards using the resist embossing technique, by embossing the image, the colors I used to blend in the background did not affect my image. To create this resist, I used some Versamark Ink, White Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.

Here's a video to show the technique I used to create this card.

Tools: Trimmer, Scissors, Heat Tool, Acrylic Blocks, Foam Blender

Stamps: Paper Garden (S1509) and Banner Wishes (B1438)

CTMH Products Used:

  • Smoothie Cardstock
  • Thistle Cardstock
  • Sweet Leaf Cardstock
  • Glacier Cardstock
  • White Daisy Cardstock
  • Smoothie Ink Pad
  • Thistle Ink Pad
  • Sweet Leaf Ink Pad
  • Glacier ink Pad
  • Versamark Ink Pad
  • Black Ink Pad
  • ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (P282, RP198, GY234 & B68)
  • Tape Runner
  • Ranger Super Fine White Embossing Powder

Here are the individual cards I created using the Paper Garden Stamp Set:

And this is the inside of the card:

I recommend using CTMH Liquid Glass or Bonding Memories glue pen to adhere the layers and 3-D Foam tape to give the accent dimensions. Feel free to add your own touch to this fun and easy thank you card.
