June 2015 Stamp of the Month Blog Hop Ice Cream Dream

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring June's SOTM, which is "Just Sayin" a set of 7 stamps. If you have come here from Krista's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog

This month we have 63 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

"You Are My Happy"

I love this month's stamp set!  It reminds me of our neighborhood ice cream truck lady, I will definitely take a picture of her the next time she comes around our neighborhood so I can put it on this layout.  I loved this stamp set so much that I decided to use all of the stamps on my layout.  The paper is from the "Taste of Summer" paper pack (this is only available through 5/31/15, but you can use any other Close To My Heart coordinating paper and card stocks).

Inspired by the "Hocus Pocus" layouts  (pages 56 & 57) from Jeannette Lynton's Magic Interactive Scrapbooks that Dazzle and Delight

  5.  Stamp (2) of the ice cream in cup and (2) popsicles on layer E.  Color images using the ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (I used an assortment of the colors available through CTMH).  Adhere on top of layer D using the 3-D foam tape.

  1. The base layer for the page two layout is a 12" X 12" Purple Patterned Paper.
  2. Using a tape runner adhere layer I to the right side of the base layer.
  3. Add layer J 1.5" from the bottom of the page.
  4. Adhere layer K to the left of layer I 1" from the top.
  5. Stamp the "You Can't Buy" sentiment using the Archival Ink on layer L.  Color some of the letter using the ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  Adhere on top of layer K.
  6. Stamp (5) of the Ice Cream Cone images, (1) Dog with ice cream and (1) Ice Cream Truck on White Daisy Card stock, color using the ShinHan Touch Twin Markers and Fussy Cut (Sorry! but I promise it was really simple fussy cutting).  Adhere on page using tape runner or 3-D Foam tape.
  7. Adhere layer M (Photo Mat) 1/2" from the top of layer I.  Add dash lines 1/4" around the perimeter of the photo mat using the Marvy Uchida Le Pen Journaling Pen.
I recommend using CTMH Liquid Glass or Bonding Memories glue pen to adhere the layers and 3-D Foam tape to give the accent dimensions. Feel free to add your own touch to this elegant scrapbook layout.  To add some sparkle to the ice cream, I used some Clear Wink of Stella Brush Markers.

  • Scissors
  • Trimmer
  • Cricut Machine
Dimensions:  4.25" X 5.5" Size Card
  • Card Base - Sorbet Cardstock 4.25" X 11"
  • Outer Layer 1 - White Daisy Cardstock 4" X 5.25"
  • Outer Layer 2 - Orange Patterned Paper 3.75" X 5"
  • Accent Layer 1 - Chevron Patterned Paper 2.5" X 5"
  • Accent Layer 2 - Paper label trim from Orange Patterned Paper .5" X 5"
Instructions:

  1. Score the card base at 5.5" and fold in half.
  2. Using a sponge dauber and the Sorbet ink pad, ink the edges of outer layer 1 and layer 2.
  3. Adhere Outer Layer 2 on top of layer 1 using a tape runner.
  4. Adhere Accent Layer 1 on top of Outer Layer 2 half of an inch from the bottom.
  5. Adhere Accent Layer 2 on the top edge of Accent Layer 1.
  6. Using a sponge dauber and the Sorbet Ink Pad, apply the ink to the White Seam Binding Ribbon to add color.  This process can also be done using the Re-inkers.  If using re-inkers, place the ribbon inside a sandwich bag, add the ink from the re-inker and ring out the ribbon until the color is applied. When the ribbon is dry, wrap it around the center of Accent Layer 1 and form a knot.
  7. Stamp the frame image and sentiment "Orange You Sweet" on top of the label image cut from the Cricut Machine.  This is a custom size, if you are using the Cricut Design Space, edit the size to 2.85" (width) and 2" (height).
  8. Use the 3-D Foam tape to adhere the label to the top center of the layers and to the card base.
