March 2015 Stamp of the Month

"Love You"

This two page scrapbook layout features this month's stamp set along with the Yuletide Carol Paper Packet.  I love the colors and patterns from this paper packet, from the bright roses to the antique colors, I just had to think of another way to use this outside of the Christmas theme.  

Inspired by the "Back Stage" layouts  (pages 28 & 29) from Jeannette Lynton's Magic Interactive Scrapbooks that Dazzle and Delight

Instructions:

Page One
  1. The base layer for this two-page layout are 12" X 12" Colonial White Card Stock.
  2. Using the scroll stamp and Desert Sand ink pad, stamp a border around the edges of layer A.  Adhere layer A to the base layer of page one.
  3. Adhere layer B at 2" to the right of layer A , use the Uniball Signo White Pen to draw stitch lines around layer B (use sponge dauber and desert sand ink pad to add distress colors to edges of the patterned paper before adhering to page A)
  4. Adhere layer C to the right side of layer B.
  5. From the Yuletide Carol Paper Packet, Fuzzy cut around the Rose image and adhere to the center of layer D.  Use the Uniball Signo White Pen to draw stitch lines around layer D.  Adhere Layer D on the center of layer to the left of layer B.
  6. Adhere layer G on top of layer F. Using a 3D foam tape adhere layer F 1/2" from the bottom of layer D, just above layer E.
Page Two
  1. Using the scroll stamp and Desert Sand ink pad, stamp a border around the edges of layer A.  Adhere layer A to the base layer of page two.
  2. Adhere layer H on the center of layer A , use the Uniball Signo White Pen to draw stitch lines around layer H (use sponge dauber and desert sand ink pad to add distress colors to edges of the patterned paper before adhering to page A)
  3. Stamp the Oval frame from the "Choose Happy" stamp set to form a scallop border on layer I.  Adhere to the bottom of layer J.  Using the scallop border punch and the same paper as layer I, create a scallop border and add to the top of layer J.
  4. Add the assembled layer J 3/4" from the top of layer H.
  5. Use the "You're Special", "Choose Happy" and "Love It" sentiments and stamp on layer K using the black ink pad.  Adhere to the bottom of layer H.
I recommend using CTMH Liquid Glass or Bonding Memories glue pen to adhere the layers and 3-D Foam tape to give the accent dimensions. Feel free to add your own touch to this fun and interactive scrapbook layout.

Cricut Sketch Thursday: Party Time

Hi Everyone!

March is a big birthday month in our family so I decided to create a really colorful and fun birthday layout using the Artbooking and Artiste cartridges.  This layout will look great with the Confetti Wishes Paper, Complements and Assortments.


This scrapbook layout was designed on the Cricut Design Space using images from Close To My Heart's Artbooking Cartridge and the Balloons are from the Artiste Cartridge.You can make this scrapbook page in a variety of sizes using plain colored card stock, patterned paper or glitter paper. Add your favorite embellishments and photos to fit your needs.

I recommend using CTMH Liquid Glass or Bonding Memories glue pen to adhere the layers and 3-D Foam tape to give the accent frame dimensions. Feel free to add your own touch to this quick and easy scrapbook layout.

Everyday Cards Project No. 005: You're Awesome, Incredible, Wonderful

Close To My Heart is partnered with Operation Smile®, an organization that provides free, life-changing surgery that repairs smiles and reshapes lives, one child at a time. From our Seasonal Expressions I catalog the stamp set "You're The Bomb" will only be available until March 31st.

This stamp set has been a favorite with my daughters, both have asked me several times to make cards for their friends using this stamp set. On today's everyday cards project, I created this fun card again incorporating two types of embossing techniques, dry embossing (embossing folders) and wet embossing (ink and powder). Try them both and see which one you like best.




Materials:
  • Black Card Stock
  • Pear Card Stock
  • Black Ink Pad
  • Star Embossing Folder
  • Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder
  • Bitty Sparkles
  • Versamark Ink
  • 3-D Foam Tape
  • Tape Runner or Liquid Crystal
  • Black Ribbon
  • Close To My Heart You're The Bomb Stamp Set (C1617)
Tools:
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Craft Heater
  • Big Shot or Cuttlebug

Paper Dimensions:
  • Card Base -4" X 4" White Daisy Card Stock
  • A - 3.75"" X 3.75" Black Card Stock
  • B - 3.5" X 3.5" Pear Card Stock
  • C - 1" Circle Black Card Stock
  • D - 1/2" Banner (Trim length to size) White Daisy Card Stock
Instructions:
  1. Using a 4" X 4" White Daisy Card Stock Base, score in center and fold in
  2. Emboss layer B using star embossing folder and Big Shot or Cuttlebug machine. Adhere layer B on top of layer A using a tape runner or Liquid crystal.
  3. Wrap black ribbon on the left side of layer A and form a bow.
  4. Stamp "YOU'RE" sentiment on layer C using Versamark ink. Add Range super fine white embossing powder and heat set with a craft heater. Adhere on top of layer B just below the bow from the black ribbon.
  5. Stamp "awesome", "wonderful", and "incredible" sentiments using black ink pad on white daisy card stock, trimmed at 1/2" width and length trimmed to size. Using 3-D foam tape adhere on top of layer B.
  6. Add bitty sparkles on top of the "YOU'RE" sentiment.
  7. For the card inside, use black card stock and cut at 3.75" X 3.75" and layer white daisy card stock cut at 3.5" X 3.5".

Cricut Sketch Thursday: Baseball All Star

Hi Everyone!

On today's sketch, I created this fun Baseball layout using the Artbooking cartridge.  I love how all the elements on this page interact and can interchange, just move the embellishments around and hide the frames.  You can substitute the “Baseball” title and images with the “Basketball” images also found in the Artbooking cartridge.



This scrapbook layout was designed on the Cricut Design Space using images from Close To My Heart's Artbooking Cartridge. You can make this scrapbook page in a variety of sizes using plain colored card stock, patterned paper or glitter paper. Add your favorite embellishments and photos to fit your needs.

I recommend using CTMH Liquid Glass or Bonding Memories glue pen to adhere the layers and 3-D Foam tape to give the accent frame dimensions. Feel free to add your own touch to this quick and easy scrapbook layout.

Everyday Cards Project No. 004: Blossom Thanks

I love monochromatic cards!  There's just something about the contrast of the black and white that catches my eye every time...

On today's everyday cards project, I created this fun and easy card using black and white inks and card stock.  I also used two types of embossing techniques, dry embossing (embossing folders) and wet embossing (ink and powder). Try them both and see which one you like best.




Materials:
  • White Daisy Card Stock
  • Black Card Stock
  • Black Ink Pad
  • Bitty Sparkles
  • Damask Embossing Folder
  • Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder
  • Versamark Ink
  • 3-D Foam Tape
  • Tape Runner or Liquid Crystal
  • Close To My Heart Funky Blossom Stamp Set (B1452)
Tools
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Craft Heater  
  • Big Shot or Cuttlebug
Paper Dimensions:

Card Base - 4.25" X 11"

A - 4" X 5.25 
B -  2.5" X 5" 
C - 5/8" X 4"
D - 1.5" X 2" (Frame)
E - Embellishment


Instructions:
  1. Using an 11" X 4.25" White Daisy Card Stock Base, score in center and fold in 
  2. Emboss layer B using Damask embossing folder and Big Shot or Cuttlebug machine. Adhere layer B on top of layer A using a tape runner or Liquid crystal.
  3. Stamp Chevron image on layer C and adhere layer C on top of layer B using 3-D foam tape.
  4. Stamp "May your day..." sentiment on layer D using Versamark ink.  Add Range super fine white embossing powder and heat set with a craft heater.  Adhere on top of layer C 1/2" from the edge of the card base. 
  5. Stamp flower image using black ink pad on white daisy card stock.  Fuzzy cut and adhere on bottom left hand corner of layer B using 3-D foam tape.
  6. Add bitty sparkles on the right hand corner of layer A.
  7. For the card inside, use black card stock and cut at 4" X 5.25" and layer white daisy card stock cut at 3.75" X 5".  Using black ink pad, stamp "Thanks" sentiment on center of inside of card.

Cricut Sketch Thursday: Absolutely Sweet

Hi Everyone!

On today's sketch, I created this sweet layout using the Artbooking cartridge and the "Cupcake" from the Artiste cartridge.  There is a "Cupcake" image on the Artbooking cartridge but it does have a candle welded on the image.  You can substitute the "Cupcake" image with lollipops or candies or even other cupcake images to make this layout you.

Everyday Cards Project No. 003 - Thank You


Materials:
  • White Daisy Card Stock
  • Black Card Stock
  • Brown Kraft Card Stock
  • Seaside Paper Packet
  • Ranger Clear Superfine Embossing Powder
  • Lagoon Pingment Ink
  • Desert Sand Ink Pad
  • Hemp Twine
  • 3-D Foam Tape
  • Tape Runner or Liquid Crystal
  • Variety of Thanks Stamp Set (B1471) ***Host Exclusive***
Tools
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Scissors  
  • Craft Heater
  • Sponge Dauber
  • Flower Punch or Die
Paper Dimensions:


Instructions:
  1. Using an 11" X 4.25" White Daisy Card Stock Base, score in center and fold in 
  2. Adhere layer B on top of layer A using a tape runner or Liquid crystal.
  3. Adhere layer C on top of layer B.
  4. Align layer B at the top of layer A and use 3-D 
  5. Stamp the "Thank You" sentiment using the Lagoon Pigment Ink on a 1" X 3.73.75" White Daisy card stock. Add Ranger Clear Superfine Embossing Powder and heat set with a craft heater. Adhere to center of layer of 1.25" X 4" Seaside Paper. Adhere at 2" from the bottombottom of layer C.
  6. Add flower embellishment and hemp twine, attach using 3-D foam tape.

  • Paper Trimmer

  • Bonding Memories Glue, Tape Runner or Liquid Crystal
Paper Dimensions:



A - (A2) Card Base 4.25" X 11"
B - 4" X 5.25" (Cut 2 - for exterior and card interior)
C - 3.75" X 5" (Cut 2 - for exterior and card interior)
D -1" X 4"
E - .75" X 3.5"
F - 1 1/4" Circle
G - 1" Circle

Instructions:

  1. Vertical card base cut at 4.25" X 11" in White Daisy card stock. Score in center and fold in half.
  2. Adhere layer B on top of layer A.
  3. Stamp "Diamond" image using Versamark Ink to create a background effect on layer C. Add Ranger Silver Superfine Embossing Powder and heat set with a craft heater. Attach layer C on top of layer B.
  4. Stamp "fabulous" sentiment using Versamark Ink on the center of layer E. Add Ranger Silver Superfine Embossing Powder and heat set with a craft heater. Add Bitty Sparkles at each end of sentiment.  Attach layer E on top of layer D using 3-D foam tape.
  5. Attach layer D on top of layer C using 3-D foam tape.
  6. Stamp "SO" sentiment using Versamark Ink on the center of layer G. Add Ranger Silver Superfine Embossing Powder and heat set with a craft heater. Attach layer G on top of layer F using either Bonding Memories Glue, Tape Runner or Liquid Crystal.
  7.  Adhere layer F above layer D towards the left side using 3-D Foam Tape.
  8. For the inside of the card, Stamp "Diamond" image using Versamark Ink on the bottom right hand corner of layer C (second sheet). Add Ranger Silver Superfine Embossing Powder and heat set with a craft heater.  Adhere layer C on top of layer B and attach layer B on card inside.

Cricut Sketch Thursday: My Valentine

Hi Everyone!

For this week's Cricut Sketch Thurday, I created another fun Valentine Layout to compliment last week's sketch.  Close To My Heart's Heartstrings Paper Packet will be perfect for this sketch, there are so many possible ways to create this layout and make it you.
