Life is a Highway

Hi Everyone!

Thank you for visiting my blog!  This weeks' Heart2Heart Challenges theme is "Life Is A Highway".  When I think of this theme, it reminds me of the 1974 Pontiac Firebird that my husband restored.  This car was his older brother's car and when he got the opportunity to acquire it, he just had to restore the vehicle.  Keeping the vehicle in the family was very important to Simeon, he remembers taking rides in the car with his brother when he was a young child.  The photos I used on this layout were taken at the Chaffey Car Club Car Show where he took the car out to show for the first time.

I created this two-page layout using Close To My Heart's Studio J, if you have not tried it, I highly recommend you do.  I am at heart a traditional scrapper because I love to feel the texture of the paper and embellishments.  I love the smell of new paper and using the stamps but using Studio J was such a great experience that I will definitely create more scrapbooks using this method as well.  Studio J gives us the opportunity to use exclusive paper patterns and the flexibility to make each and every layout our own style.

For this layout I picked the "Manmade" kit and a "Glimpes" pattern.  I customized both the kit and pattern for my layout.

  1. Great layout! My guys, husband and son, both have cars they love. They just spent Saturday with Eric the Car Guy; a Youtube personality. I'll have to see if they have any pics from that trip!! Thanks for sharing this; I'm now inspired to get some car layouts done!

  2. Thanks Katrina! I was so excited when I saw "Man made" as one of the kit choices on Studio J, have fun creating your layouts and thanks so much for visiting!

  3. My husband has many project vehicles and almost zero time to work on them. What a fun layout!
